For young people, I prefer to speak groups starting at the 5th grade.  After that, I’m happy to speak with youth all the way through the university level.  My speech will change in topic, emphasis of area, and level of candid language, as it suits my audience.  For a school that has a wide range of ages, I find it best to group similar age ranges together.  For example:  6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade, or ages 10-11, 12-13, 13-14, etc.  That helps to focus the speech, and target more specific concerns in the student population.
